The Allen's Place Home

Welcome

to the Allens.Place

Welcome again to our family website.  We are a close Family and are all Jehovah's Witnesses.  We are thankful to always be able be there to enjoy time with one another and to help one another.  Let us introduce a little about our family to you.

Claude and Dorothy's first home togather was at a duplex at 5th st. Franklin in Eugene.  After a couple years it was time to find a home for starting a family togather.  They settled on one on Royal Ave.  Mom liked it as it had plenty of room for her children to run around on its 1/3 acre lot with a three bedroom home with 2 garages, one which would become Dads shop.  Dad liked it as it was close to where he worked at Olson cabinet mfg. on Danebo St.  They raised four boys at the home that became the Allen's Place.  Eventually in the Garage half of the house Dad created a bedroom and utility rooms, it was further converted to an apartment by Paul and Dad where Paul lived and Earl in the other.  Parents needed to go to Oak ridge for a job for several years.  When Parents came back from Oakridge to take care of Grandparents they bought another house on Minnesota st. where Craig and Cecil also continued to live.  Eventually Craig moved back to the Allens.Place and Cecil moved to his trailer home he purchased from the Bailey's.   A t the Minnesota st. house both grandmothers and one aunt who were cared for  until they died, parent then rented out the rooms to room various Brothers and Sisters.  After Mom's death from cancer Dad is now looking to sell the Minnesota St. house as it is now larger than he needs in order to move to a smaller home.  The homes were we live and call AllensPlace will change, but wherever our home is, our home will be whatever we bring to it togather as a family.

Three of the boys and one sons wife still live on the original AllensPlace property where thew boys grew up.

Earl has the bulk of the main house featuring 2 bedrooms and a Large living room.  A gas and a wood stove to keep warm on winter days.  A porch at the main entry with a sitting view of the sunset.  An patio has a handy woodshed for firewood that lead to the major of the yards.

Paul and Kathy have the end with the converted garage with a small kitchen with alcove, A Bedroom with bathroom.  The Living room they use was originally the master bedroom.  Their door has a patio/porch cover over it to sit and walk under to keep them dry and shaded with a morning view.  The house laundry room is shared between Earl, Paul and Kathy.

Craig owns a trailer home on the AllensPlace property with a cover to provide shelter from the rain.  Close by sits a storage shed with his private laundry.

Cecil now lives in a trailer home he purchased on Fir butte Road he purchased from Brother and Sister Bailey.
